Wreckfest 2 Officially Revealed With Road Rage-Fueled Trailer
During today’s THQ Showcase, Wreckfest 2 was officially confirmed with a stylish new trailer that was light on details but heavy on road rage. Surprisingly, it mixed in a few tender moments between bouts of vehicular carnage, as a driver lamented about the state his car was in after he’d taken it out for a quick destruction-derby ride and “overreacted” a bit on the track.
Wreckfest was a smashing success for THQ Nordic when it first came out several years ago, with the game being hailed as a spiritual successor to the FlatOut and Burnout series of games. Wreckfest spent four years in early access on PC before it received a full release in 2018, with PS4 and Xbox One versions arriving a year later.
WWE 2K23 Servers Officially Go Down Forever As Of Today
Today is a big day for the WWE, as Raw officially moves to Netflix with tonight’s show from Los Angeles. It also marks an end of an era for WWE 2K23. As of now, 2K Games has taken down the game’s servers permanently.
2K Games said it was giving WWE 2K23 its “final takedown” last September. The game and its DLC was removed from PlayStation and Xbox’s digital storefronts at the beginning of November. Now that the servers are also down, WWE 2K23 will no longer have any online functions, including player-to-player matches or even the Community Creations that allowed fan-made characters to be downloaded.
However, WWE 2K23 will still be available to play offline for anyone who purchased it prior to its removal. This game’s fate foreshadows what will eventually befall its successor…

Towerborne is a pretty drastic departure from the Banner Saga series, developer Stoic Studio’s impressive set of story-driven strategy games. But even with just a short look at it, it’s easy to see some of the familiar Stoic DNA in Towerborne. It carries a beautiful art style that recalls a hand-drawn aesthetic, similar to Banner Saga, and that gives it a powerful vibrancy.
I played a short demo of Towerborne at Xbox’s recent Gamescom event in Los Angeles, which gave a very quick look at its moment-to-moment combat gameplay. Towerborne is a side-scrolling co-op action-RPG that takes its inspiration from beat-em-ups. There’s clearly a lot of inspiration being drawn from old-school arcade entries in the genre, but Towerborne separates itself through a combat syst…

SAG-AFTRA members who work in video games have voted to strike due to concerns about AI, after more than a year and a half of unfruitful negotiations regarding the Interactive Media Agreement–a contract that many major gaming companies must stick to when creating big-budget games. The strike will go into effect at 12:01 AM PT on July 26.
“Any game looking to employ SAG-AFTRA talent to perform covered work must sign on to the new Tiered-Budget Independent Interactive Media Agreement, the Interim Interactive Media Agreement, or the Interim Interactive Localization Agreement,” reads the press release announcing the strike. “These agreements offer critical AI protections for members.”
Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI is unaffected by the strike, as are live-s…
Read moreDisney+ Removes Four Indiana Jones Movies, Leaving Just One Left
Last year, during the run up to the release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Disney brought the first four films–Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull–to Disney+. But as of this month, Dial of Destiny is the last Indiana Jones movie streaming on Disney+.
This shouldn’t be too surprising for fans of the franchise. Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012 gave the studio full ownership of Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Willow, and all of the other intellectual properties that were created under George Lucas. However, that deal did not retroactively give Disney the rights to any of the movies produced before 2012. That’s why the distribution rights for the first …

Chinese companies Tencent and NetEase are reportedly scaling back their investments in Japanese video game studios due to the lack of big hits, including shutting down Visions of Mana developer Ouka Studio.
According to Bloomberg, NetEase has already let go of developers from Ouka Studio, a process that started this spring. NetEase reportedly has only a few people left over at Ouka Studios to oversee the launch of its final games before its closure.
Additionally, Tencent acquired the rights to publish the mobile version of Bandai Namco’s Blue Protocol. However, Bandai Namco announced earlier this week that it was ending support for the game in 2025, along with the cancelation of its international release via Amazon Games. Come from Read more

Transformers One Star Has A Perfect Reference Point For Bumblebee's Origin
The next Transformers movie is almost a month away from premiering and will be the first animated Transformers movie to hit theaters since the 1986 feature. Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Keegan-Michael Key, Scarlett Johansson, and more voice the iconic characters with Hemsworth and Henry taking on Orion Pax and D-16 before they were Optimus Prime and Megatron, respectively.
Paramount released a quick featurette with the interviews with the cast about their roles and the characters’ major differences from what we’ve seen.
“What intrigued me was the origin story,” Hemsworth says. “And to be voicing Optimus Prime is another level. He begins as Orion Pax, he’s a worker in the mines, this is his journey to become the all-powerful, all-knowing Optimus Prime Come …

The Nightlord will apparently pluck foes from the past to stop players in Elden Ring: Nightreign. Game director Junya Ishizaki has confirmed that Dark Souls enemies will show up in the upcoming co-op action-RPG.
According to Eurogamer, Ishizaki noted that a handful of Dark Souls adversaries will appear in Elden Ring: Nightreign during a Famitsu interview. This comes after fans believed they saw The Nameless King from Dark Souls 3 featured in the co-op survival game’s debut trailer at The Game Awards last week.
On top of this, Ishizaki recently revealed that Elden Ring: Nightreign isn’t a live-service game, even though it features multiplayer-centric survival features. Bandai Namco added that it will be priced similarly to the Shadow of…
